Bloomingdale's has finally done it. They are apart of the growing trend in the interior design industry, offering interior designers a trade program for purchasing with their business. Bloomingdales literally rolled out the red carpet and pulled out all of the stops for myself and the other designers. Upon my arrival to the home furniture department, I was greeted by a host and by the beautiful sounds of two violinists. A light breakfast was served buffet style and the team leaders were ready to give us a tour of all that Bloomingdales has to offer for homes.
After the host made a couple of announcements about the new Design Professional Program, I and several other guests joined Susan Schiller to meander through three floors dedicated to home items and furnishings. Susan was well versed in the home products and she did not hold back on her knowledge when asked countless questions about the design professional program. She was straightforward and transparent about the ongoing development of the program. The tour was very insightful about the layout of the product lines, merchandise selection, and customer shopping habits.

The tour ended with us gathering together for the drawing of gift prizes. These gifts were some of the high-end products Bloomingdales is known to offer. I can't believe that I won placemat sets from Chilewich. They are absolutely beautiful. I also had the honor to have renown illustrator Lily Quian paint a beautiful portrait of me. I must say that Bloomingdales hosted a lovely launching of their Design Professional Program and I look forward to their next event.
